Fundraiser Dance for American Cancer Society – 2011 May 22

This post is a message from Millie Dusha about the Fundraiser Dance for American Cancer Society that Dancers for the Cure, Relay for Life sponsored on May 22, 2011.
—————————–
Wow, we had such a fantastic turnout for the Dancers For The Cure Fundraiser Dance for American Cancer Society and “Dance in Memory of Ann Beadle” today. 73 people came out to support this event and there were others who weren’t able to attend but gave donations. Thank you all so very very much in supporting this event. We are so happy to tell you that we raised $1,600 for American Cancer Society, Relay For Life.

Thank you to the dance clubs that donated dance passes for our Raffle: Boots ‘N’ Buckles, Cactus Corners, Country Hustlers, Country Quicksteppers, and Wine Country Line Dance. In addition to the dance clubs, thanks go out to Norma Borgeson, Debbie Lindemann, Patricia Kenny-Schliebe, and Yvonne Banchero for donating Raffle items.

A big Thank You to the many volunteers that helped set up, clean up, brought snacks, worked the door, and sold raffle tickets. That includes: Dave, Charlotte, Johanna, Leslie, Patti, Nancy, Mary Ann, Shirley, Pam, Jim, Russ, Kate, Mel, Martel, Neil, Debbie K, Donna, and Barbara. In addition, I don’t know what I would have done without Donna Arnold and Barbara Boberg who took the lead in coordinating the group of volunteers. So many helping hands are needed in carrying out a successful event.

We had 5 hours of dancing today. Dancers from all over the Bay Area were represented – Alameda, Benicia, Campbell, Castro Valley, Danville, Dublin, Fremont, Hayward, Lafayette, Livermore, Martinez, Morgan Hill, Napa, Newark, Oakland, Pinole, Pleasanton, San Ramon, San Francisco, San Jose, Santa Cruz, San Lorenzo, Santa Rosa, and Saratoga.

It was such a pleasure for me to host and DJ this Fundraiser and Dance in Memory of Ann Beadle, but it’s thanks to the Dancers For The Cure and all of you that supported the event that made it a success. I can’t thank you enough. Thank you all.
